We are truly honored that you are considering us as adoptive parents and family for your child. We are Brandt and Anne Shirer. We have a 6 year old son Brennan. We thank you for your strength and courage.
We pray you may have peace on your journey.
We firmly believe that God has called us to adoption. We always wanted another child, and when we discovered that we were unable to have another child naturally, we heard God’s call. It led us to adoption. At first, it was about us wanting to add to our family, and now our feelings have turned. It is not about us, it about the child, and to be able to give love, home and family for that child.
This is God’s plan. He called us and we have answered.
We met 14 years ago and we knew from the start that our futures were meant to be together. We share the same passions for life, love and family. We quickly saw that God had placed us in each other’s lives. We were married in April 1999. We have an extremely strong faith and live each day one day at a time, making the decision to love and be life giving to each other.
We live in Manhattan Beach, CA, only 1 mile from the beach. We love it for the laid back beach lifestyle, outdoor recreation, and the beautiful weather. The beach, parks, great schools, and our church make the community a paradise for us. We have 2 friendly cats, Bella and Bonita, who are gentle with kids and famous for snuggling up with us. Weekends find us at the beach, the playground, riding bikes, seeing movies, or attending Brennan’s sporting events. We love to laugh, play, and discover.
We will welcome your child into a warm community of family and friends. Anne’s parents, her sister and brother live only 5 minutes away. There are lots of family gatherings. Every other week, we enjoy dinner with Anne’s parents and the entire family. Many cousins and aunts and uncles fill the house with love and laughter. Brandt’s parents live in San Diego, close enough for plenty of visits. Brandt’s dad works in LA and spends one evening a week with us for his “Brennan time.”
Anne is loving, confident, and kind hearted. Many of her friends and family relate her to the sun: vibrant, full of life, life giving, and warm hearted. Anne’s interests are family, parenting, travel, running, art, sports, reading, teaching the Catholic faith in RCIA, the beach and loving life with Brennan and Brandt. Anne is an amazing, loving and hands on mom. Anne keeps life moving at a fun pace. She misses having a baby in the house and looks so forward to the day of holding one again in her arms. She cannot wait to see the joy and wonder on our new child's face as they play and explore the world.
Brandt is outgoing, confidant and extremely social. He has a passion for life. He is compassionate, open and loving. He has such a strong, deep faith and relationship with God. He is successful in his career in health care administration. He is a beautiful, amazing, loving father and husband. Brandt loves to spend time outdoors, surfing, skateboarding and running around with Brennan. Brandt has many interests including travel, sports, movies, reading, and the beach. He loves the ocean and surfing. Brandt has so much love to give to another child.
We have one child, Brennan and he is 6 years old. He is a beautiful boy, inside and out. Brennan has a beautiful soul and spirit and loves to share his spirit with everyone he meets. Brennan can’t wait to be a big brother!
As a family, we discussed what it would take to adopt a child, and explained to Brennan that it would take time and lots of prayers. We dedicate our hearts and minds to the most important role we play and embrace the opportunity open adoption provides to parent another child. We want our children to grow up to be compassionate, confident, independent and loving adults.
