My name is Darci.

I am single heterosexual woman who is choosing adoption as the means to start my family. Unfortunately, I have not been blessed with picking the right type of man, you know, the one that truly wants a family.

In younger years, my sister and I always talked about adoption and knew we would both some time adopt. Last year, my sister adopted a precious 13 year old girl. She is a treasure to our immediate family! Now, I have decided not to “wait” for a man to be a couple, but to try and start my family myself. I have a huge heart and have lots of love to give to a child. I am a physical therapist and been in that field for 19 years. I am very active in hiking/walking, running, cycling, beach activities, gym workouts and just love to have fun! I live just a short walk/ ride to the beach itself.

There is also a serious side to me. I know and have thought much about what it will take raising a child on my own. I am not entering into this blindly. Almost all of my friends have kids. Some already grown, some in their teens, and some younger like 4-8 years old. My mother and sister live close by and are ready to help me if I should need it. I also have a core group of friends that are ready to help also. I knew I needed this in place before I become a single mom. Support systems are just necessary. I have checked out which schools are the best ones in my city. I admit, I am learning as I go, I don’t profess to have all he answers, nor am I perfect, but I will always try and do my best. I feel like I have enough love for 200 kids. So just imagine what I can offer one child or even two!

I have two “children” already or as other people refer to them… cats. They are spoiled. They are also very loveable, entertaining and would love to have the attention of a child who would possibly play with them too. They are excited about more play time!
