Jonathan and Christine

Dear Birth Mother,

Jonathan and Christine FamilyThank you for taking the time to consider us as prospective adoptive parents for your baby. My name is Christine but I go by Chris. My husband's name is Jonathan. We met a little over 6 years ago. We were both in our mid-30's at the time and up until that point we just hadn't met our perfect partner. We knew pretty quickly we were meant to be and we were married 14 months later. We will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary in November.

Before we were even married we talked about our desire to have children. Since I was over 35 we knew there was a chance we might not be able to conceive children naturally. We decided from the get go that if we were not able to conceive a child we would adopt. Rather then going through the expense and emotional rollercoaster of infertility treatments we would rather give our love and support to a child that might need us.

Jonathan and ChristineWe were actually able to conceive our first child very easily. Our daughter Samantha is 2 1/2. We have always wanted 2 children and we wanted them close together in age. After two miscarriages we decided to adopt. Samantha will make a great big sister!

Jonathan and Christine I am an accountant and have a regular Monday through Friday, daytime schedule. This enables me to spend evenings and weekends with the family. Even before we had children, Jonathan and I always ate dinner together every night. I love to cook and fortunately Jonathan loves my cooking! Jonathan owns his own mortgage company. He currently works out of his office about 20 miles away but plans to start working from home this summer. We have a home office and having Jonathan at home will be great for the kids.

Both of our families are nearby. I have one brother and several cousins that I am extremely close to. Jonathan is the youngest of 4 and we have several nieces and nephews on his side. We get together with both of our families often. Our extended family includes children from previous marriages and a few family members that are adopted. To all of us family has no blood lines.

We live in a wonderful new community. We moved in just after we were married. Because it is a new neighborhood we have a lot of neighbors that are around our age and they all have young kids. We live on a cul-de-sac so there are always kids playing in front of our house. We have huge neighborhood block parties with bounce houses, cotton candy machines, and more for 4th of July and Halloween. We have several great parks in the area and 2 within walking distance.

We have great public schools in our community. All of the public school's in the area rank 9 or 10 with 10 being the best score. All of the schools are new and have small class sizes. Parents in the community are very involved. I plan to be very involved with the schools when our kids are old enough. Jonathan is looking forward to participating in the various sports programs offered for kids in our area.

Jonathan and Christine Christmas is one of our favorite holidays. We have so many decorations that we have to put up 2 Christmas trees! We have many annual traditions. For example, we started a ceramic village and we add a new piece to it every year. Jonathan's mom bought him an ornament every year since he was born and has continued that tradition for her grandchildren. In addition, we pick up ornaments when we are traveling or visiting places so our kids will remember these special times when they decorate the tree. And Christmas Eve wouldn't be complete without a plate of cookies for Santa!

Jonathan and I have a very cooperative parenting style. We agree on almost everything. We are both equally active in running the house. Jonathan is a very hands-on dad. We love spending time together as a family. If we aren't busy with our extended family, we are going somewhere fun such as the zoo or Disneyland. We cannot wait for the kids to be old enough to see some more of the exciting sites Southern California has to offer!

Thank you again for taking the time to read our profile.

Sincerely,

Jonathan and Christine
